Organizing Your Clothes, Part 1
It's Week One of my style challenge! We're going to start by organizing some of our clothes and it's going to be super simple to start off with, so let's go straight to it!
This should only take you 15-30 minutes! You don't have to take hours and take every single thing out of your closet! That's great if you want to but I don't have time for that and I'm not doing that. Photos and the link to my TikTok video are at the bottom!
Step 1 - Choose 1-2 sections or drawers to organize.
Step one is to choose one or two sections of your closet or one or two drawers that you want to organize. I started with my tops/sweaters and jeans - some were hung up and some were folded on a shelf. But it's what I wear the most often so it was a good place to start.
Step 2 - Organize those sections by color.
Step 2 is to choose a color organize and organize those sections by color. Whatever color order works for you is fine, as long as it's in some kind of defined order. I put my neutrals in front so I start with taupes/browns and then white/gray/black. And then the rest I put in a somewhat rainbow order. This makes getting ready so much.
Step 3 - Take out-of-season clothes out of those sections.
Step 3 is to remove your off-season clothes from those sections. It doesn't matter where you put them right now but just put them somewhere else so they're not with the clothes you're wearing this season. We'll circle back to them very, very soon.
And that's it for this week! Easy as can be! As you can probably tell, I didn't clean my closet or do anything else.
