Welcome to Week Four of Steph's Style Challenge!
I'm going to push you a tiny bit this week! Just a tiny bit, I promise! For some of you, it's not a push. But for others of you, it's going to feel like a push. Let's go!
Step 1 - Choose a button-down shirt from your wardrobe.
Find a button-down shirt from your wardrobe like I'm wearing in the photo below! If you don't have one, choose another shirt that's long and loose and that you usually wear untucked. Preferably, I want you to do a button down shirt because I want to show you a couple of different ways to wear it but you can use any shirt that's long and loose and that you normally wear untucked and flowy.
Step 2 - Try a French Tuck or a Knot.
This is where I push you a bit! I want you to wear it differently and tuck it in a bit, knot it, do a half tuck, or any other way that makes it more fitted to show off your waistline. And yes, it's going to allow your lower belly to show along with the front of your pants.
This is where some of you may be shaking your head and thinking that there's no way you're allowing the front of your pants to show because you like to hide your belly. But I promise you that it's much more likely that it's more flattering than wearing your top untucked and loose. So here's two quick screenshots from the video that show you a couple of different ways that I wear this top and see what you think.
Now, compare those two photos to me wearing it untucked and loose!
Again, those are just quick (even unflattering) screenshots, so watch the video in its entirety. But I think it's fairly obvious that wearing the shirt tucked or knotted is more flattering!
So, do you think you're brave enough to try it? I think you'll find that you might even get compliments on how you look if everyone around you is used to you wearing loose tops!
