Making Outfits with a Black Base

Welcome to Week Three of Steph's Style Challenge! We spent weeks one and two organizing our clothes, going through our closets and our drawers, see what we can get rid of, and moving out-of-season clothes out of the way so that you can see what you have to wear this season. So today we're starting to actually use our clothes to make outfits that maybe you haven't thought of making! Let's get some use of them!

We're going to start the challenge with a black base and it's super simple!

Step 1 - Choose a black base.

Find a pair of black pants or black jeans and a black top - you can choose dress pants and dress shirt or more casual styles. I chose black bootcut jeans and a short-sleeve black v-neck top.

Step 2 - Make as many outfits as you can using the black base and other clothes and accessories you already have.

Using the black pants and top, how many different outfits can you make using other pieces from your wardrobe? It's cold out so it's the perfect season to play with layers! How about a bright blazer with coordinating jewelry? Neutral cardigan? Flannel shirt and sneakers? What about a jean jacket? How can you add a scarf and a purse to make something different?

Look at the photo at the top of this post! The middle photo shows me wearing a hot pink blazer with coordinating earrings! It totally changes the look of that black base by just adding two pieces!
