Fall fashion brings the jeans out of the closet! Let's talk what's trending this fall and what styles of jeans you're likely to see.
1. Straight-Leg Jeans
Straight-leg jeans are taking over the spot that skinny jeans used to hold as the "standard" jeans. Straight legs tend to fall straight down from your knees without any tapering. They're so easy to wear with almost any shoe and do a great job of balancing out any extra width in your hips or tummy. If you have heavier legs like I do, you'll love straight-leg jeans!
2. Wide-Leg Jeans
Wide-leg jeans have been coming back for the past couple of years, but they're hitting mainstream fashion this fall in a big way! You're likely to see them everywhere. They're super-flattering to most body shapes but remember to balance them out with a shorter top and/or a tighter fitting top. I wear them all the time with bigger tops but I French tuck the front of my top or half of the front for some balance.
3. Cropped Jeans
Cropped jeans with either wide legs or flared bottoms are popping up all over social media. They look great with belts, sweaters, and tops half-tucked or french-tucked. Style with ankle boots, loafers, ballet flats, or white sneakers.
4. Flares & Bootcut
Flares were considered "retro" a few years ago, but they're pretty standard, along with bootcut, at this point. Both styles do a fantastic job of balancing out your hips and thighs. My best tip for shoes to wear with flares is to wear shoes or boots with pointed toes because they really elongate the legs or any type of heels - cowboy boots, pointed-toe boots, or boots with heels are fantastic with flares.
5. Carpenter-Style Jeans & Overalls
These two styles have really gained popularity in the last few months! I've even seen them referred to as the "cool girl pants" of the season. And I see why! They tend to have straight legs, plenty of pockets, and are very comfy! Throw on sneakers, lug boots, pointed-toe boots, or ankle boots. Almost anything goes!
